Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026
00 — The short version
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't show ads, and we don't let anyone pay to influence what the app or its assistant tells you.
- If you don't sign in, your data stays on your device.
- Ash, the in-app guide, uses Claude by Anthropic to answer when you're signed in and online. She sees your balances and transactions only if you allow it.
- If you share a trip, the person who joins sees that trip, its plan, its bottle and the costs you share on it, never your accounts, your spending or your other bottles.
- If you share your budget with a partner, they see and can change everything in it: accounts, spending, bottles, trips, bills and receipts.
- Receipts you keep with a spend (a photo, a scan, or a receipt email you forward) are stored privately with your budget and deleted with your account.
- If you're in school, the student loans and aid you add, or bring in from the aid file you download from StudentAid.gov, are budget data like the rest. Gracely never asks for your StudentAid.gov login.
- Your wish list and travel answers sync with your account. Ash's picks for you are worked out on your phone. If you share your wish list, your travel partner sees the places on it, nothing else.
- If you watch flight prices for a place, we send only your home airport, the airport you'd fly to and the month to look them up, never anything about you.
- Reminders, Siri and widgets work on your device. Crash reports stay on your device unless you choose to send them.
- You can export your data, and delete your account and its data, from inside the app.
- If you connect a bank (US accounts only), we use Stripe to do it securely, and we only read transactions and balances — Gracely cannot move your money.
- Financial data is stored only in the United States.
01 — Information we collect
Information you provide
Budget data you enter. Buckets, goals, categories, transactions, trips, events, and notes you create. If you use Gracely without an account, this stays on your device. Account information. If you choose to sign in, we use Sign in with Apple. Apple provides us a unique identifier and, if you allow it, your name and an email address (which may be an Apple private relay address). We use this to create and secure your account and to sync your data across your devices. Your account screen shows that email and the name you go by, which you can change. Profile photo. You can add a profile photo (a photo you pick, kept as a small square image) in Settings → Account, sync and partner. It's saved on your device and, when you're signed in, in private storage for your household, so anyone you share your budget with sees it next to your name. It's never public. Remove it any time; deleting your account deletes it.
Trips, plans and documents
Trips. Destinations, dates, travelers, day-by-day plans, bookings and their status, checklists, and budget lines you create. They sync with your account when you're signed in. Documents you attach (for example, a booking confirmation) are stored privately for your household and are never public. Booking emails you paste are read on your device to draft a plan item. The email itself isn't stored or sent anywhere; only the plan item you choose to save is kept.
Atlas
If you use Atlas, the places you pin, your notes, and the photos you choose (from your library or camera) are stored with your account. They are shared with the people you invite to that atlas. Gracely only accesses the photos you pick.
Location
Gracely asks for your location only when you tap "Pin this spot" in Trip Mode, and takes a single reading to place that pin. Trip weather uses your trip destination's location, not yours.
Bank account information (optional — US accounts only)
If you choose to link a bank account, we use Stripe Financial Connections to establish the connection. Through it we may receive: • Transactions — such as amount, date, and merchant/description. • Balances — current and pending balances. We use this information to help you categorize spending and see what's safe to spend within Gracely, and, only if you allow it, to let Ash answer your questions about it (see "Ash, your in-app guide"). We do not receive your bank login credentials, and the connection is read-only — Gracely cannot initiate payments or move money. Stripe processes this data under the Stripe Privacy Policy and its Financial Connections terms. You can disconnect a linked account at any time in the app.
Ash, your in-app guide
When you're signed in and online, the messages you send Ash, together with a summary of the trip and bottles you're asking about (names, dates, amounts, and your plan), go to our server and to Anthropic (Claude) to write her reply. If you allow it (Ash asks once, and you can change it any time in Settings → Ash can see my money), each question also carries your money so she can answer anything about it: your accounts' names, types and balances, your safe-to-spend amount, your bottles, your spending by category for this month and last, and your recent transactions (date, payee, amount and category, from about the last 90 days), and, if you're in school, your student loans, the aid you expect and your FAFSA checklist. Never account numbers, bank logins or StudentAid.gov logins: Gracely doesn't have them. Anthropic processes this under its commercial terms to write her answer. Suggestions and checklists she writes are saved to your trip, and nothing in your plan changes unless you approve it. If you don't allow it, Ash answers questions about your money on your device, and nothing about your money is sent. When you're offline or signed out, she answers everything on your device and nothing is sent.
Trips you share
If you share a trip, Gracely makes an invite code for you to send. The person who joins with it (they need Gracely and an account) sees that trip's name, destination, dates, plan, bookings, budget, packing list, its bottle and what's been put in it, and the costs you share on it and who paid them, and the name on your profile. You see theirs. They can put money in the bottle, add shared costs and settle up; nothing else of the trip changes from their phone. They never see your accounts, your spending, your other bottles, the trip's documents or your conversations with Ash. You can remove them, and they can leave, at any time. When a trip is shared with you, the same applies the other way round.
Sharing your budget
If you share your budget (Settings → Share your budget), Gracely makes an invite code for you to send. The person who joins with it becomes part of your household: they see and can change everything in it, including your accounts and balances, transactions, bottles, trips, bills, budgets and receipts, and you see what they add. Before they join, what was already on their phone is saved to a backup file on that phone and replaced by your budget. Either of you can leave, and the person who started the budget can remove the other. Whoever leaves starts a budget of their own; what they added stays with the household.
Your wish list and travel answers
Gracely keeps the places on your wish list (places you'd love to go and places you've been) and your answers to the four travel questions (who you travel with, how you like to travel, and your home airport if you give it) with your account, so they're on all your devices. Ash's picks are worked out on your phone from those answers; nothing is sent anywhere to make them. Removing a place, or deleting your account, removes it.
Sharing your wish list
If you share your wish list with a travel partner, they see the places on it, with their months, travelers and rough costs, and can copy any of them into their own list. They don't see places you've been, your flight prices or your money. Stop sharing any time and your list disappears from their phone.
Flight prices for your wish list
If you turn on Watch flight prices for a place on your wish list, Gracely's server looks up flight prices for it once a night, using Travelpayouts (the data service of the flight search site Aviasales). To do that we send them only three things: your home airport, the airport you'd fly to, and the month you'd like to go. We never send your name, your email, your account, your money or anything else about you. We keep the prices we find with your wish list for up to 60 days, so we can tell a good price from a usual one. When there's a deal we tell you with a notification, if you allowed notifications. "See flights" opens Aviasales, which has its own privacy policy. Gracely may earn a small commission if you book there; it doesn't change the price you pay. Turn watching off, or remove the place, and we stop.
Bills, reminders, Siri and widgets
Bills, paychecks and auto-save you set up are budget data like the rest, and sync when you're signed in. Reminders (off until you turn them on) are scheduled by iOS on your device; nothing is sent to us to remind you. Siri and Shortcuts run inside the app on your device. Widgets read a short summary (your safe-to-spend amount and your next trip) that the app keeps on your device. Your Apple Watch gets the same kind of short summary from your iPhone, and a spend you log on the watch goes to your iPhone to be saved. During a trip, Trip Mode can show the day, what's left to spend today and your next plan on your Lock Screen (a Live Activity; you can turn it off in iOS Settings). Spending trends, monthly and yearly reviews, the 60-day forecast, round-ups, and finding charges that look like bills are worked out on your device from your budget data; nothing extra is sent anywhere to make them.
Booking and receipt emails you forward
If you forward a booking confirmation or a receipt to your private Gracely address (shown in Settings → Forward bookings), we receive it through Resend, our email provider, and keep its text (the sender, the subject and the message; no attachments) so the app can turn it into a draft for you to check, or offer it as the receipt for a matching spend. Only your account can see it, not a partner who shares your household. Gracely reads it on your device; it isn't sent to Anthropic or used by Ash. It's deleted as soon as you add, attach or dismiss it, and after 30 days at the latest. Mail sent to an address that isn't anyone's is discarded.
Receipts
You can keep a receipt with any spend: a photo you pick, a page you scan with the camera, or a receipt email you forwarded. Gracely matches a forwarded email to a spend by its amount and date on your device. The receipt is saved on your device and, when you're signed in, in private storage for your household, so anyone you share your budget with can see it; it's never public. An email you attach is kept as its text with that spend. Receipts aren't sent to Anthropic or read by Ash. Remove one any time from its spend; deleting your account deletes them.
Student loans and financial aid
If you tell Gracely you're in school, you can add your student loans, the aid you expect each term and your FAFSA checklist, and mark a deposit as financial aid. You can also bring in the aid file you download yourself from StudentAid.gov ("Download My Aid Data"). Gracely reads it on your device and keeps only your loan details (type, school year, amounts, rate, status and servicer); it doesn't keep the file or the personal details in it. Gracely never asks for your StudentAid.gov login. This information is stored, synced, shared with your budget and deleted with your account like the rest of your Gracely data. If you let Ash see your money, your loan and aid details are included.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. Apple tells us which plan you have, its status, and its renewal dates, linked to your account, so the app can unlock the right features. We never receive your payment details.
Information collected automatically
Limited technical data needed to operate and secure the service (for example, server error logs, and a count of recent Ash messages so the service isn't abused). Crash reports from your iPhone (Apple's MetricKit: call stacks and device details, no money or names) are kept on your device; they reach us only if you tap Settings → About → Send diagnostics and choose where to send them. We do not use any of this for advertising.
02 — How we use information

To keep the receipts you choose with your spending.
To track your student loans, aid and FAFSA steps, if you're in school.
To share your budget with the partner you invite.
To show a trip you share to the people you invite.
To show your wish list to the travel partners you share it with.
To look up flight prices for the places you choose to watch, and tell you when there's a deal.
To remind you about bills and trips, when you turn reminders on.
To manage your subscription and unlock the features it includes.
To sync your data across your devices when you're signed in.
To secure your account and prevent abuse.
To respond to your support requests.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
03 — How information is stored and shared
Where it's stored
When you're signed in, your data syncs to our backend hosted on Supabase. Financial data obtained through bank connections is stored only in the United States.
Service providers we rely on
Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, weather for your trip destinations through WeatherKit, and Maps search for destination names), Supabase (database, private file storage, and sync), Stripe (bank connections), Anthropic (Ash's replies), Resend (receiving the booking and receipt emails you forward), and Travelpayouts (flight prices for the places you watch: two airport codes and a month, nothing about you). We share information with these providers only as needed to operate Gracely, and they are bound by their own terms and privacy obligations. We also send currency codes only (no personal data) to a public exchange-rate service to display trip currencies.
Do It Pin It
Atlas comes from Do It Pin It, another King's Home Lab app. When you sign in, we keep a one-way code derived from your Sign in with Apple identifier with Do It Pin It, so the same Apple ID isn't used for two separate accounts. The code can't be turned back into your identifier, and it's released when you delete your account.
What we don't do
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing, and we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or others.
04 — Your choices and rights
Use without an account. You can use Gracely entirely offline without signing in.
Disconnect a bank. You can unlink any connected account at any time in the app.
Delete your account. In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. We delete your account, your Atlas places and photos, and any household (with its documents, receipts and profile photos) that no one else belongs to; a household you share stays with its other members. We also delete your forwarding address and any booking emails you forwarded, revoke Sign in with Apple and release the Do It Pin It code. Trips you shared stop being shared, and money you put in a trip someone shared with you is removed from it. Deleting the app removes the data on your device.
Export and access. Settings → Export my data makes spreadsheet files of what you've entered, on your device, for you to keep or share. To request a copy of everything we hold, contact us at the address below.
Subscriptions. Manage or cancel your plan in your Apple ID settings (Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions).
Location, photos and camera. You can turn off Gracely's access to any of them at any time in iOS Settings.
State privacy rights (e.g., California and other US states). Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, delete, or correct your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is nothing to opt out of in that respect.
Apple. You can manage Sign in with Apple from your Apple ID settings.
To exercise any right, email us at privacy@meetgracely.com.
05 — Children's privacy
Gracely is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it. If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, please use Gracely with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
06 — Data retention
We keep your synced data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account in the app, we delete it right away; when you ask us by email, we delete it within a reasonable period. Routine backups expire on their normal schedule, and we keep information only where the law requires it.
07 — Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls (row-level security scoped to your household, to a single trip someone shares with you, and to the wishes on a list someone shares with you), to protect your information. Documents, receipts and photos are kept in private storage that only your household (or, for Atlas, the people you've invited) can reach. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
08 — Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
